                      Position Title: UI/UX Designer



Who are we?

Resonance AI is an AI platform for Media. Entertainment is a huge business where traditions and gut have generally governed decision making. Traditional media and new media both need new tools and new approaches to excel in today's data driven environment. Content creators, distributors and aggregators need to harness existing data and marry it to newly derived data to make sense of all of the content. 

The Resonance AI Platform for Media threads together high concept video analysis to performance of the content to create what we call Resonance. In other words, know what works. Know what your community finds acceptable; what they want to see more of and how to best serve them.

This role reports to the Chief of Engineering and is part of a talented, fast-paced team. We’re located in downtown Seattle, with easy train and bus access, but our team is currently working from home.


We are looking for a talented UI/UX Designer with proven expertise in the creation of compelling user-interfaces that result in best-in-class user experience. The ideal candidate will be a self starter who is motivated and passionate about their work. This position requires someone who is ready and willing to work with autonomy and lead the design efforts for a growing startup. 


Among other things, you will: 

  • Create responsive designs (web & mobile) for complex applications & dashboards. Occasional support for marketing website and sales demos.

  • Develop Site Maps, User Flows, Interaction Design, Wireframes, Prototypes & Functional Specs.

  • Ensure design consistency and adherence to industry standards. Improve code quality.

  • Create reusable UI/UX components. Use, maintain and augment existing UI/UX components.

  • Design, develop and administer usability tests on websites and other front-end digital assets to enhance user experience. Create and execute an action plan based on usability test results.

  • Support digital media and marketing teams in regular website update activities, including development, editing, maintenance, testing or other quality assurance functions.

  • Create necessary documentation and guidelines. Share periodic or ad-hoc reports as required.

  • Support front-end designers and other stakeholders. Perform other activities as assigned.

  • Ability to clearly present and communicate your design concepts to the various internal teams including Data Scientists, C-Suite, Product, Sales, Engineering etc.

  • Demonstrated success in designing data visualizations.


Here’s what we seek in an ideal candidate:

  • 3+ years of industry experience (preferred), with at least more than a year independently developing UI.

  • Strong experience dealing with React/Redux and other coding frameworks for UX and UI design.

  • Design experience in Adobe Suite (Photoshop/Illustrator/Dreamweaver/Fireworks/After Effects/InDesign), Sketch, or similar applications.

  • Experience with collaborative design tools such as Invision, Zeplin, or similar applications.

  • Proficiency in Prototyping, Wireframing, UX & Interaction Design, Usability Testing / Research and Information Architecture.

  • Extensive knowledge of cross browser and cross platform compatibility.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize across projects, and communicate with multiple stakeholders.

  • High motivation and ethical standards.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent. May be offset by substantial relevant experience.

  • 3+ year(s) experience with React/Redux, front-end code using HTML/CSS/JS

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Desire to work under tight deadlines and successfully manage multiple work streams.

  • Prior experience in media or film an advantage.
